Stand Strong In Faith!

“No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised”

Romans 4:20-21 ESV

Abraham is known as a man of faith. But what did walking by faith look like for him? God had promised him a son when he was 75 years old. At 99, that son still had not been born. If it would have been difficult to have a son at 75, it was definitely impossible now. His wife was 89 years old!

God made him a promise… that didn’t look like it was ever going to happen.

What would he do?

What would you have done?

What do you do when you’re waiting for one of God’s promises to be fulfilled in your life?

Spurgeon on The Necessity of Faith

Christian, take good care of thy faith; for recollect faith is the only way whereby thou canst obtain blessings. If we want blessings from God, nothing can fetch them down but faith. Prayer cannot draw down answers from God’s throne except it be the earnest prayer of the man who believes.

… But without faith how can I receive anything of the Lord? Let not him that wavereth—who is like a wave of the Sea—expect that he will receive anything of God! O, then, Christian, watch well thy faith; for with it thou canst win all things, however poor thou art, but without it thou canst obtain nothing. “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

Connecting With Jesus Through The Word

When you study the Word of God, don’t make the mistake of approaching it as a dead textbook. It is the living Word of the Living God. Don’t study it to simply learn more about the Word, read it and study it in order to connect with the One who IS the Word, Jesus Christ!

How To Overcome Sin and Live In Victory!

Overcome Sin

When we struggle to overcome sin, we often think more rules are the solution to keeping it in check. Yet the harder we try, the more we seem to fall. In moments of failure, it’s easy to feel hopeless like overcoming sin is an impossible ideal. Have you ever been there?

This is because many don’t understand how the Christian life is supposed to work. God did not give Christians His Spirit and grace so they can struggle to overcome sin in their own strength. God’s grace was given to us so that He can empower us to overcome sin and live godly lives.
